Cheek Enhancement has become an increasing popular treatment over the last couple of years. As we age volume is lost from the sub-malar (cheek) area. Facial rejuvenation can be achieved by addressing this volume loss. High cheekbones contribute to a youthful arc and by replacing lost volume, structure is added back to the upper midface. Cheek enhancement compensates against the effects of gravity on the ageing face.
By subtly enhancing the cheeks a quite profound effect can be achieved on all surrounding areas of the face. The subtle lift achieved improves the appearance of nose to mouth lines (naso-labial lines) and improves the “tired” appearance of the eyes.
Deep volumizing hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are required to rebuild facial contour. The injections are placed deep down in the fat layers of the face close to the cheekbones. The areas to be treated can include the outer cheekbone, the round apples of the cheek and the lower cheek hollows.
Dermal fillers in the cheek last between 6 – 12 months. To maintain a youthful appearance follow up treatments are necessary.
Following your consultation with Lucy when you are happy to proceed the treatment process will take approximately 30 mins. The dermal filler contains an anaesthetic which helps reduce any sensation of pain. Some clients may experience swelling or redness after injections which usually subsides soon after treatment. You can return to your daily routine immediately following a dermal filler treatment.
You will notice the results straight away, with the best aesthetic result within 7 days as the dermal filler settles and any swelling subsides.
No preliminary allergy test is required as hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin. Side effects which can occur are slight redness, swelling and bruising. These reactions are normal and with the help of ice usually disappear shortly after your treatment, typically one to two days.
